topher Posted October 18, 2008 Share Posted October 18, 2008 Hi, My brother has a 1994 Toyota Corolla 4DSD and he ran it low on oil :!: and a knock started. The knock is coming from the upper engine, back part of Cylinder 1. I think the lifters are bad but was wondering if anything else in that area could be causing a knock. I have the lifters out and from measuring a few of them the oil clearance is off, but I just want to make sure before I put everything back together that there is nothing else I should check that may be causing the knock. The engine is a 7AFE. Any help or ideas are appreciated.
