  1. I have a 1995 (first production year) Avalon XLS (single owner) with 168,000 miles. I know I don't win the mileage contest, but just wanted to say the car still runs like a new car. Best car I have ever owned.

    I have a 1997 Toyota Avalon with 277,131 miles. (446,000KM).

Engine & Trans still in very good operating condition.

  2. I have a 1997 Toyota Avalon. Need to replace it since all the tubing is corroded etc and leaking oil badly.

The entire rack and pinion assembly is ready for removal, all fastener tie rod ends etc have been disconnected.

The rack and pinion shaft removal from steering shaft at split collar is difficult to access and remove. Any suggestions and schematic available showing this area and removal?

    Thanks,

    Tony

  3. This is what I thought as well.

And there are a lot of panel coverings to take out in order to reach the light bulb.

Without the service manual showing how to take the panels off, I am not going to do it by trial and error.

I have a 1997 Avalon with same problem. Light bulb burned out at fuel gage bulb #83119-24290. Toyota suggested I replace all the light bulbs about 25 pcs once I remove the entire dash board to get into the cluster. I also have the D drive bulb out last week.
