I just purchased a 2000 Avalon and I'm loving it!!! Has anyone had any good or bad experiences running synthetic oil.

I use nothing but full synthetics, Amsoil to be specific. Synthetic is the best you can do for your car. It outperforms conventional and synthetic blends in every way. It may cost you 15 bucks more per oil change but I look at it as cheap insurance...

Of the oils you listed I would go with Mobil1. But if you want the best oil for your engine , go with Amsoil. You can order it online and it will be shipped to your door in a matter of days...

I have always changed my oil at 3000 miles. I know that has made Castrol happy.

The manual says 5k and so does the dealer. So I will probably use conventional oil and change every 5k.

Amsoil is not readily available around here. The Toyota oil is Chevron brand.
