[Is my '96 Corolla DX OBD or OBD-II?]

Happy New Year! Newbie here. I got a Check Engine light and I wanted to find out the codes. I tried the procedure in Haynes but it didn't work. I tried an OBD-II scanner but it also didn't work, but maybe because it's for Audi using VAG-COM's OBD-II function. How would I know for sure if mine is OBD-II? Thanks in advance!

most cars 96+ are obd II go to auto zone they will tell you

Did you buy it from a dealer or a private owner? Either may have some records, so you should check with them. Also, if you open the hood, technicians usually put a sticker with date and mileage for timing belts, sometimes for other major services.

Private Dealer who bought it at an auction... it was in a accident so pretty much whole front end is new.. including the hood.

i dont think so, there is no receipts in the glove box.. oil and filter, tranny fluid, belt, plugs, wire, cap, rotor,air filter, fuel filter, anyhting else?

I have a metal bar hanging from looks like a suport for the sunroof.. How do i take out the headliner to fix it??

I just bought a 1996 Corolla and it has 135k. I dont know if anything has been replaced tranny fluid etc. What should i change?? I need this car to last me another 100k
