xrs
in Corolla Club
I bought an '04 LE about 8 months ago. I was just wondering if the XRS is worth all that extra money? (about $20,000) I got my LE for about $16,000- which included side airbags, alloy rims, ABS, and an upgraded sound system.
It seems that all it gets you is: 1" larger wheels, slightly larger engine, minor suspension upgrades, and 2 more disk brakes.
The XRS also takes away folding rear seats, 2 tone interior- hardly worth $4000 more!
If you wanted something sporty, you could get a 'S' Corolla for about the same price that I paid. I just don't see it as being worth all the extra money.
Please correct me if I was wrong about somthing,
Josh :)

Hello,
I have been looking at an intake/exhust system for my '04 corolla LE- and I have a few questions:
Does this make a big difference?
What does it do to MPG?
How much does it cost?
I was also wondering if they make exhust systems that sounds 'normal'. What I mean is I don't like the buzzy sound of some of the aftermaket system i've heard.
Thanks,
Josh

My '04 corolla LE also idles at about 2000 during cold days to. This is normal for almost any car. However, I have not noticed any problem with low oil pressure. I believe that is something you might want to get looked at. It shouldn't cost you anything under the warrenty and it is better to be safe than sorry.

Hello,
Regarding the starting problem:
I own a 2004 LE (auto), and I know several other people with automatic corolla trans. and I have never heard of that problem. That leads me to believe that it is a problem with the clutch sensor, as RichieRich said, since I've never heard of an auto doing that.
Regarding the MPG:
When I first bought my '04, it did not get great mileage either. At first I actually got about 3-5 mpg less than on the sticker. Once I got some mileage on the car, the mpg increased.
Another thing to consider is during the summer, cars get less mpg. I get about 4-5 mpg less in the summer (during a/c use), and about 1-2 mpg less during the winter(during extensive heater use). The averages they give on the sticker usually indicate the average in optimal conditions (This usually means normal driving with little a/c use- which few of us do)
I hope that helps

About the CD player- Toyota should simply replace it for you.
Regarding the oil consumption, I have a 2004 LE and have had no problems with the car concuming too much oil. I don't think even large trucks use that much oil. It sounds like a misprint to me.
