  1. We have the 2019 highlander Limited AWD, and the MPG thing is skewed. Seems to me my mileage has gotten worse since the recalled fuel pump was replaced! (??) A week or two ago we drove the Interstate (35miles) and mpg actually dropped? A few days ago I reset the mpg and did some in town driving and it was reading 12.3 mpg. went through a drive thru fast food place an while ordering and picking up the order the mpg's actually reversed to 10.7!! Baffled!

  3. Just noticed at the Mobil station where I have been filling up (regular 87 octane)now says 10% Ethanol.

My manual says fuel is "Gasoline 87 octane. research octane 91 or higher".

Confused a bit here, is gas with Ethanol Ok? Is 87 octane Ok or should it be 91 octane (Premium)?

Have a 2018 Highlander, would like to change 3,000 mile (

synesthetic) oil change maintenance to 5,000 miles.  Anyone know if this is possible?

I have the 2019 with V^ and manual states with the 0-20 Mobil 1 oil, 10K, however I don't feel good going that long, talked to my local mechanic he recommended 5K using 0-20 synthetic.

Yes it should do, but your ground clearance at the rear of the vehicle will be diminished a few inches.  Be careful to make sure the wheel does not foul the rear of the aperture into which the wheel fits if it is at a tilt when lifting into position it could jolt loose if you hit a bump in the road.

  7. Just purchased 2019 Highlander, Limited AWD. Ride is comfortable. Better than I expected in a SUV. Only have 250 miles so far. Our seats are a bit on the firm side, but still breaking in so? From what I've read on 2020 its a complete update, a bit longer in wheelbase and projected to ride better?  Some say the 2019 series is better because of multi-year improvements and those same voices say the "redesign years" tend to have some problems that  are worked out in following years? Happy hunting.
