Larry Kettelkamp Posted February 22, 2022 Share Posted February 22, 2022 My used 2016 Toyota Avalon had: "Replaced Airbag Sub-harness Kit" on 8/7/2020, in addition to regular servicing on that date (evidently in response to a recall campaign for the 2016 Avalon passenger side airbag). Normally when engine is turned off, display above center of steering wheel goes dark quickly & dashboard is also dark. However starting a week ago, when engine is turned off, blue light remains on above center of steering wheel for several minutes before going dark. (Seems to be in an accessory mode). And passenger side airbag warning light starts blinking and remains blinking while engine is off. When engine is started again, warning light stops flashing & functions normally when passenger is in front seat, warning if seat belt is not fastened & going off when it is.
