I legitimately can't figure out which stainless screws to buy for my license plate.

It's infuriating. I bought 6mm-1x20 but those didn't work. I dont know if its because the plastic screws broke off inside and I had to drill them out and it affected the threads or if its just the wrong size screw. I have a 2009 Camry and a 2004 Camry. I'd really appreciate any help as I'm going nuts and might just buy some stainless self tapping screws and go to town, lol. Thank you!

You could use double sided sticky tape which works well as long as surfaces are cleaned thoroughly beforehand
