Slap Piston

Piston slap is generally caused by the side skirts of the piston being worn.  This can be caused just by a high mileage engine, wrong weight engine oil used for a long time of even a clogged oil jet at the base of a rod.  Unfortunately, that slap or knock you are hearing has probably scratched the cylinder bore wall also.  Saying that, you’ll need new pistons, rings bearings, maybe oil jets and a cylinder honing job.  Will get a little expensive more than likely
