Doug Courtney
Hey everyone. Anyone having trouble with the new iPhone and their multimedia system? I purchased a 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport back in June with an entune premium audio system. Had an iPhone 6 at the time and no troubles with the Bluetooth pairing, connection or any of the system functions. I upgraded to an iPhone 11 on the 21st of this month and it paired fine, systems worked, etc. on 9/27, my audio system went into a perpetual reboot mode whenever the phone was paired. Unpaired the phone and no reboots, but no ability to use the tech features either. Took it to the dealership yesterday and the dealer said all the software is up to date and placed a call to Toyota’s tech center. They had no clue and suggested some whacked out work around that included using a USB cable and restarting my phone then re-pairing the phone to the system. Needless to say, that didn’t work. looking for anyone else who may be having the same problem and if they’ve found a solution. Thanks
Toyota Owners Club
Hi Doug....welcome to the Forum Seems a convoluted way to pair your phone to the car. Have you tried contacting your local Apple retailer and seeing if they have any ideas...you never know, it could be something simple such as a particular setting on the phone? Doug Courtney
That was going to be my next stop if Toyota has no solution (which at the moment it appears they don’t). My theory is Toyota is behind the curve on the release of the new phone and iOS and hopefully they are working on an update. Thanks for the response. MAA
Exact same issue with my 2016 Highlander. No help from Toyota. A big disappointment. Will think twice about buying another Toyota
julierenee13
I am having the exact same problem with my 2017 Prius and my iPhone 11. Finally figured out it was the phone. Such a bummer. Looking into a 2020 Highlander and hope to God it won't be the same. Deal breaker for sure.
