WillE Posted January 23, 2015 Share Posted January 23, 2015 New Member and toyota owner, I was searching for a small station wagon or micro van to move some belongings when my house sells. thinking ahead searched NM for Matrix and/or XA, months of searching; Cars.com, CarGurus, CarFax, et al.. drifted over to Craigs list Abq.; and fate handed me a gem. 2005 Matrix Xrs. My research on matrix lead to wycopedia re: 1ZZ-FE which flowed into 2ZZ-GE so I was familiar with the motor specs. I jumped on the phone and 2 days later I was driving the Matrix. Good enough to trade my '98 Prelude toward the car...not quite as much juice (Prelude was well above 200HP) , but more modern and a station wagon. Before I owned the 'Lude' my daily driver was a '92 SE-R. I owned 2 SE-R's '92 and 93'1/2. So I can borrow a phrase from SERCCA 'best kept secret'... in this case a Matrix XRS must be Toyotas 'Best kept secret'...found my wagon with the juice.
