rny1venza
folks, just a quick question. I notice that my average mpg display has been dropping slowly over the last 3mos or so <> the 2009 now has 52K miles. the display had been averaging 23.5 to 24.5 mpg, and now is down to 21.5 to 22.5 mpg. I am wondering if it is time to change the spark plug wires? distributor cap? how about filters that aren't normally replaced by the local gas station folks? any comments on proper maintenance for the ignition system? thanks, ron
pterrill2709
Don't know the reason of your MPG drop, but I've got a 2013 and the best I've have ever gotten is 22.5 MPG and I average between 19.5 and 20.5. And no I don't have a heavy foot.

retvethogrider
Not sure why the variance in mileage but your ignition system is good for many more miles. I have nearly 140k on my plugs in my Lexus. There are no points, rotors, rotor caps in newer cars. Each cylinder has its own firing system. If one of those goes bad, you will know immediately. I rather doubt there is anything wrong there. Between seasons mileage tends to vary a bit.
