Tripledeadheat Posted May 3, 2011 Share Posted May 3, 2011 My 2005 Avalon Touring blew its' engine at about 101000 Miles. No explanation from dealer, also no help in repairing it either. Dealer said they would only replace the engine with a new one-not rebuilt. The cost would have been 12-14 thousand dollars. I had a rebuilt engine installed for a little more than 8 thousand. Now, I'm keeping the car. It's better than ever but I want to make it a "Grand Touring" car. Unfortunately, I can't find any suspension upgrades or brake upgrades for an Avalon. I guess the aftermarket people think only old folks drive Avalons so they don't manufacture much for the car. Any suggestions or sources for such improvements? Thanks for replying.
