Vibration

4Runner

Recommended Posts

I have a 2000 4Runner with 178,000 miles. I have had a alot of maintenance lately and still have a vibration coming from the front. The following maintenance has been done. New tires, new brakes, rotors, calipers, u-joints and the tires have been rebalanced. The vibration starts at 60 mph and seems to lessen above 75 mph. Above 60 it happens wether the gas pedal is depressed or not.

Sounds like something with the wheels...perhaps a bent wheel, or a wheel that needs to be balanced. Or if you have aftermarket wheels, sometimes they need centering rings.

I just had the tires rebalanced and still the same problem......I'm still guessing. Still have the factory wheels. Thanks for the suggestion.

Toyota rims are lug centric I believe whereas most other vehicles are hub centric. You should find a shop that has a Hunter Road Force balancer and/or a shop that uses a Haweka adapter for your rims.
