azsweetpea13 Posted March 19, 2005 Share Posted March 19, 2005 hey, does anyone know why my 4runner would jump rpm's in an instant? here's the thing, had some extra lights installed day before, had low battery or battery failure after that. Then I was on the freeway, had cruise on and when it started to really accelerated I turned (cruise) off, i had to stand on brakes, all the while the tach went up to 7 the only thing we could think of (quickly) was to shut the engine and coast to a safe stop. if anyone has a remote answer it would be greatly apprieciated! thanks, azsweetpea13 ps- the cruise problem took place in a matter of 2 minutes. could it be computer chip reset or something not followed through? oh, it's a 94.
