Sudden acceleration on '04 Solara

Section 426

Recommended Posts

Three times since Jan. 19, my 2004 Solara has had an instance of sudden acceleration when I tapped the brake pedal. The last time happened on Feb. 7 when I tried to slow down as I was going over railroad tracks. I had to hit the brakes to stop the acceleration. Has anyone else had this problem, or is aware of this problem? Since it only happens occasionally, I'm afraid that if I take it to the dealer, he won't find anything wrong with the car and will tell me that there is nothing wrong with it. The car has fewer than 32,000 miles on it.

No experience like the one you describe. We just bought a '99 Solara thinking that we would miss the electronic accelerator issue. Your post raises some concern.

Your car accelerates when you tap the BRAKE pedal?
