1998 guage for temp almost half way but no heat coming from bottom and very little heat from other settings .added 50/50 glycol water to fill not much.new to me car 55000 miles?

hole is sloped so it doesnt see, anything can be asttatched to it llike a tube?last for now ,radio had an 8 track slot but also has a CDbutton but i dont see any place for a CD ? thanks ahead of time
