Remote Access using the Apple Watch app

Toyota recently made me aware that we can connect remotely to our Toyota vehicles using our Apple Watch and the Toyota App.  Is anyone familiar with this app and are using the Watch to remote to connect with their Toyota product?  

I connected and turned on the hazard lights, but could not turn them off using the Watch app.

Also, it appears that you have to have the Toyota app open on your phone before you can access remotely using the Apple Watch.  If so, what's the advantage of having access on your watch, since if you already have the app open, just use it to remote connect to the vehicle?

I would appreciate any help.
