I have a 91 Toyota pickup 22re motor. I was leaking from EGR cooler plate. Which caused white smoke. I replaced that with a factory gasket. The leak stopped but still have white smoke not as bad but enough to not drive. I ran it 20 to 30 min. Tighten everything down. Oil is fine and coolant in the radiator doesn't bubble or shoot out. I pulled two spark plugs and they just had oil on the thread. No outside leaks. I have no idea what it is and where to go from here. I think it has to be coolant or water since it's white smoke. Anyone could help that would be awesome thanks in advance. -
I got rid of my error code p0401 (insufficient flow) by just replacing my egr valve, temperature sensor, and vucuum modulator. I have another problem, now I have a new error code p0402 (excessive flow). I've look on youtube and the web for answer to the problem, no luck. It says to use same method as p0401, to clean valve. I skip the cleaning part by puchcasing aftermarktet parts and check light still on. What else could be wrong. My error code reader gave me only one error code which is p0402. Anyone with experience in this area, please help!!!!

hi Folks: My car is a 1996 corolla with 1.6L engine and auto transmission. I got a fluctuating idle after I worked on my starter. I disconnected EGR hoses and tubes when I was working on my starter. But now, I cannot fully remember how to restore the connection. The fluctuating idle only happens at P (parking) channel. When it goes to D or R channel, the engine sounds fine. What I mean by "flucuating" is that the volume of the sound seems periodically changing, like a waving pattern. I am not sure if the EGR connection is the culprit of my problem, but I guess that is the only cause I can think of. So I am attaching a figure and I hope someone could give me some pointers if I did anything wrong. If you could give me a more illustrative figure on how to hook things up, that will be great! The tube circled in red in the figure. Should it be connected to something, or should it be left open as it is? Here is the figure: Any suggestion is highly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
