This 5th gen pickup (190k) has been in the family for 26 years and has been indestructible. The past couple years an issue arose. Issue: The truck runs absolutely fine, but when its warm and you shut it off, it wont start, but its cranks fine. After sitting for 5-20 minutes, starts like nothing ever happened. Fires up cold perfectly every time. Diagnostics: Pulling the coil wire from the ignitor to check for spark, there is NO SPARK. Checking for fuel injector pulse with a node light, fuel injectors are NOT GETTING CURRENT. So something is wrong that controls both. Again its cranking like normal. No check engine light. Replaced: I've replaced a lot without any luck: ignitor, coil, distributor (crank sensor inside), MAF mass airflow sensor. One more note: In the summer the truck also sometimes stalled, and when it shut off, you had to wait 5-20 minutes to start it again which almost caused an accident on the hwy. Not sure if this is related or not, but the stalling issue magically disappeared now (winter). Regardless, everything seems to be worse in the hot summer. Please help, I used to live in this truck and drive across country, would love to confidently get back on the road!

I have a 91 Toyota pickup 22re motor. I was leaking from EGR cooler plate. Which caused white smoke. I replaced that with a factory gasket. The leak stopped but still have white smoke not as bad but enough to not drive. I ran it 20 to 30 min. Tighten everything down. Oil is fine and coolant in the radiator doesn't bubble or shoot out. I pulled two spark plugs and they just had oil on the thread. No outside leaks. I have no idea what it is and where to go from here. I think it has to be coolant or water since it's white smoke. Anyone could help that would be awesome thanks in advance.

1991 Hilux Performance Ignition Coils?
Aoex posted a topic in Other Toyota Truck General Discussions
Hi I Have a 1991 Hilux V6 3.0 Extended Cab, it was my Fathers' truck which he bought a few days before I was born, passed down to me when he bought a 2009 Tacoma V6 SR5, It was and still is relatively well taken care of, I'm trying to find some performance parts for it, I'm not looking to turn this thing into formula 1 race car, just want to get some more performance out of it, and also to get the best mpg out of this 22 year old truck. I know that there weren't many performance parts made for these trucks anyway. I was wondering If anyone knew where, or who made performance ignition coils for the V6 engine, so far I have only found stock replacements. On the other hand I have found plenty of performance ignition coils for the smaller 4 cylinder engine version of the truck, but why they would make performance ignition coils for the smaller engine baffles me... If anyone has any info on this, it would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone could give me a few other performance upgrade options it would also be appreciated.... thanks!-
