  1. I have a 2014 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. With a cold engine the engine starts up and runs choppy, or tough, as if there is a misfire. One time I got a code which said that cylinder 4 was misfiring. I have investigated possible caseus and replaced all spark plugs. Same problem. The checked the coils and the misfire code did not move to another cyliinder. And I have replaced the Camshaft sensor. Nothing fixes it. This happens with a cold engine, but it also happens at a stop light on start up, after and then the engine shuts down. Although it doesn't happen 100% it's frequency is increasing. It is close to 80% of start ups. Any suggestions?
  2. I've had my 2019 RAV4 Hybrid for about 5 months and have encountered a major issue with the gas tank capacity. Shortly after purchasing the new vehicle, I realized that any fill up of the tank was incomplete. Fuel capacity is 14+ gallons and I'm seldom able to squeeze in 8-9 gallons when nearly empty. The dealer has replaced the tank, which has not fixed the issue. Toyota is aware of the problem, but they do not have a solution yet. Anyone else encountering this issue of having only 2/3 the fuel capacity and thus shorter distances to empty? Any luck with getting it resolved?
  3. I am considering a 2022 Highlander Hybrid as my next new vehicle. I live in the snow belt and am leaning toward a AWD version and if someone can help me with the following questions it would be appreciated. 1. Both the FWD and 4WD have the same HP ratings, so how do the electric motors drive each set of wheels, seems if you add a motor to the rear wheels the HP would greater in the AWD. Does the AWD use a driveshaft or simply a motor mounted in the rear for the rear wheels. 2. Does this vehicle have any direct mechanical drive through the ECVT or is the ECVT basically a generator that supplies electricity to electric drive motors. 3. If some can point me to a webpage that explains the drive train workings in some detail it would be great. Thanks for any help. Gary
  4. 2016 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID REVIEW: THE LONG-AWAITED AND MOST LOVED SEDAN! The powertrain of the 2016 Toyota Camry Hybrid is gonna be built around a 4-cyl, 2.5-lit gasoline engine, capable of up to 178 HP; plus, there will be an electric motor, and a battery pack. Now, with the combined might of gas and electric, the 2016 Hybrid Camry is capable to achieve even more Horsepower – around 200. That allows it to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 7.6 seconds. Furthermore, the fuel-efficiency is also great. Article
