  1. We own a 1992 Geo Prizim which is basically the GM rebranded Corolla. It is aging. There are two issues that have brought this car to a halt. First, the positive power feed off of the battery post has degraded due to battery acid corosion to the point that there is not enough current flowing to the starter to turn it over. upon exanination, the 100 AMP fuse to the altenator had corrosion inside and the upper ends of two wires were corroded. The bolts holding electrical components are corroded so badly that a socket will not fit and they will not turn with vice grips. Second, the owner has tried to open the drivers door during freezing weather and broken the outside door handle on the drivers side. Initial searches for replacement door handles at parts suppliers and on line came up No Longer Available. I work on antique Allis Chalmers equipment and their forum leads to experiences, advice and parts. So, is this Forum helpful in that manner?
