  1. Leigh, read the article you posted and we're also doing a story about him here at work today. I betcha the guy just wants publicity. He didn't want to put the car into neutral because "he was controlling the vehicle" at the time. I hope he gets what's due him, whether it was indeed unintended acceleration or hoax. If it was a hoax, may he burn in hell for eternity.
  2. NSFW due to language: edit by Admin: Please be warned the above link cotains very strong language.
  3. There isn't exactly an interval on when they should be changed, but for peace of mind for you kid, I would change them out to play it safe. Stick with the OEM ones from the dealer, they shouldn't cost too much.
  4. Not sure what kind of engine you have, but I doubt that the Solara has distributor cap, but most likely uses coil packs on one side. Stay with NGK or Denso for plug choices. The torque should be 14 ft/lbs.
  5. Are you using the correct weight of oil?

  7. Fabetech makes some stuff: http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com/applicat...tacoma5lug.html. With a lift you can fit a bit bigger tires in there.
  8. Yeah, those are both V8 engines, you're going to have to haul around the weight of the Sequoia and cargo and that's going to eat up a lot of fuel. V8s aren't known for their gas mileage.
  9. Bump for a very nice ride. Too bad you aren't closer to SoCal or else you would have a buyer already.... namely me! Good luck with the sale, I'm sure the next owner will be thrilled with that car.
  10. Was it ever working? Is the rheostat nob to the left of the dash turned all the way to the right? Are any other lights working such as the AC, shifter, etc.?
  11. Leigh, there's snow up in Big Bear and Wrightwood during winter, yeah, I know hard to believe that there is. SoCal is the only place where you can go surfing in the morning and skiing in the afternoon.
  12. Holy crap, my mom likes to put floor mat on top of floor map for some reason. I should tell her to stop that.
  13. Just purely a guess, but I think it should be fine, but I would check all the fuses to make sure they're OK. I think the fuses may have saved you hopefully.
  14. Beautiful car indeed! I'm afraid to even make an offer on the Supra!!! :o
  15. Very nice car! Looks like a cross between a Paseo and a Celica.
  16. Why not try contacting the show and asking them? Have you tried that yet?
  17. urdusa.com makes an O2 sim. for Tacos, not sure if they work on other models.
  18. Toyota rims are lug centric I believe whereas most other vehicles are hub centric. You should find a shop that has a Hunter Road Force balancer and/or a shop that uses a Haweka adapter for your rims. http://www.gsp9700.com/pub/features/how.cfm http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/tec...e.jsp?techid=40 http://www.gadgetonline.com/Vibration.htm
  19. It's normal, overheating is when smoke/steam is pouring out of the engine compartment. When I had my Tacoma, it ran a little above middle for its whole life. Just make sure you flush the coolant out every 2 years or 30K miles and you'll be fine.
