  1. Has your mechanic checked the idle air control (IAC) valve yet? If it's dirty, it could cause what you're experiencing. The IAC valve should be located under the butterfly valve/throttle body.
  2. KYB makes some quality shocks.
  3. Try here: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm
  4. I would still say leave it at the dealer overnight and let them deal with it, your Rav is still under warranty.
  5. Have you checked the distributor/coil packs?
  6. There should be a "severe" and "normal" schedule outlined in your owner's manual, never trust a sales person as far as you can throw them. Just follow the manual, you should fall under one of the categories mentioned earlier. "Severe" is defined as driving in stop-and-go situations, towing or driving in dusty conditions. "Normal" is driving mostly highways. I say if you fall in between the 2 categories then follow the "severe" schedule. Toyota "engineering" says follow your owner's manual, that's why it comes with the car.
  7. Yes, all vehicles made from 1996-present should all be OBDII compliant.
  8. So you're thinking about going w/ a wider and higher profile tire? Why? What is the current brand of tire that you have now? If you have Dunlops they've been known to have a short tread life. Go over to tirerack.com and take a look at what OEM sizes they have for your Sienna. They've got lots of user reviews for each tire.
  9. Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the forum!
  10. Should be located behind the glove box. Open up the glove box and there should be a little door that you need to remove and it should be behind it.
  11. Spray that down with some PB Blaster over a period of a few days. Then get yourself a set of wrenches called "flare nut" wrenches, they look something like this: They grab the nut on more sides rather than just the 2 or 3 that the normal open ended wrenches do.
  12. Welcome to the forum! LOL love your user name!
  13. I totally forgot that the older T-100s had the 3.slow engine in them. No headgasket problems on that? I think the same engine was used in the 1st gen 4Runners which had the HG recall.
  14. Hey now! The T-100s had the 3.4L V6, not a dog by any means, but too small for a truck of that size. Was perfect in my '99 Taco. I think I could have driven it at least another 100K miles.... but I'll never know since I sold it. :(
  15. Was that a quote from the $tealer? I've heard of other vehicles that can have their EGR valve cleaned. Do you know where it's located on your car? You could probably find the part online and have a mechanic install it for you, it'd most likely be a lot cheaper.
  16. Check with car-part.com, they source all the junk yards in the US, I'm sure they can get what you need.
  17. Even more news about the Prius in question: http://pressroom.toyota.com/pr/tms/toyota/toyota-offers-preliminary-findings-155268.aspx Just adding fuel to the fire. If I ever see this guy, someone better stop me or I'll have his ass kicked!!!
  18. Well, the story we ran was that the guy had filed bankruptcy a couple years back and he runs some online swingers site and that's just part of it. The jerk seems like a lowlife scum having his 15 minutes of fame. I think in the next few weeks he's going to admit that it was a hoax afterall, trying to get money from Toyota. I really hope this guy fries in hell some day.
