  5. Yes my friend, you now have an evidence issue. I'm not sure what state you are in, but your rights to a jury trial probably have been waved, so no punitive damages for bad faith. In arbitration, you've got no appellate procedure if you lose and awards for damages are lower than in a real courtroom. Get a hold of the mechanic who worked on your car the very last time at the 1st dealership. He's your witness now.

  8. Humanoid is right. You got your oil changed by a neanderthal or cro-magnon era dude at the dealership. You say that you got your oil changed 3 times at that dealership. So the regional manager is going to say that the stripped threads were caused by wherever you took your car previously. If you try to re-thread that oil pan for a larger diameter drain plug, I suppose it would be possible, but they'd probably have to use enough torque to do it that they'd cause an oil pan gasket leak due to the high mileage on the car. Plus, they might have to flush the oil pan out to get rid of metal shavings. Several auto parts stores sell a replacement oil drain plug that's not a plug: it's a got a valve in it you can open by hand, so you can change oil without using a wrench (on the drain plug, at least). They have a BIG sealing area on them where it meets the pan. You might end up haveing a JB Weld moment here.
  9. OK..I actually thought yopu couldn't move the shifter at all....and if something's already broken in there as it is, that may also happen.
  10. Well the Mobil oil will cost you a lot less than 100 bucks. And Fidgits is right-I don't see any practical applications for the tornado that prove it works. The K&N filter? It might work, but we do have a member on this board who is of the contention that they cause damage to the mass air flow sensor. I don't know what TOY's position is on this, but there was a Chevy service advisory notice regarding same on thier trucks not too long ago.
  11. Look down at the shift console. There should be a small knockout hole on the left. There is an electrical connector that can be disconnected to unlock a stuck shift lever...but are you saying that you can't move the shifter at all?
  12. What kind of oil are you running? You might want to try Mobil Drive Clean 7500. I have been running it for some time now and I picked uo a little mileage over regular oil.

  14. How long has the car had dim lights? Is this a steady problem since it started or does it only happen some of the time?

    4 front tire blowouts? With the same type of tire? Were they Bridgestone or Goodyear?
  16. Try spraying some DEOXYIT on the mast when it's all the way up. I have a former post or two on this stuff. I have been using this stuff for many years to clean the pots on basses and on my 1953 Fender Esquire.

  18. Energy MXV are good tires...but have you looked anything from BF Goodrich? I just put Momentums on recently. They handle very well, especially in the rain, and have a great treadwear rating.

  20. I had the same problem with a 1994 Corolla and the problem was the wiper switch.
  21. Here in the states, we pay about 12 bucks for the Densos. NGK has a pretty good iridium plug, the IX. They're about 7 or 8 bucks and they also last a long time. Champion also now has a iridium plug for ten bucks. Autolite is getting on the iridium bandwagon as well, but there don't seem to be any part munbers for Toyotas as of yet. I also run Denso Iridium - expensive but they are good.. "you get what you pay for" after all ;)
  22. I run Denso Iridium in my Camry. They are more expensive, but they give great ignition and they also last a long time as well. Your car should use the IK16 plug.
  23. Well, even if you live in south TX (makes sense= TX A&M) your Camry might be a yankee car. I keep thinking as a NY'er there might be something going on with the wiring to the o2 sensor. Did you disconnect the battery and reconnect to clear the ecm?
  24. There alo used to be another place in MI called toyotaparts.com....don't know if they are still around.
  25. The only thing that comes to mind is that I had to replace one of those dog bone mounts one time. The guy's car continued to have a lot of vibration even after replacing it. I rechecked it, suggested we change the front mount out as well. Vibration stopped.....but that's my only experience with it. Only that one Camry.
