  1. I just did a rather wild thing. I purchased a used high milage (119,000 miles) 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid on Ebay of all places. It seems like a beautiful car and runs nicely but as one who is fascinated by the hybrid technology I would like to make sure I am getting what it is supposed to deliver in terms of fuel economy. I have had the car for about 1 month and have driven it no more than 400 miles in that time. I have never achieved better than an average reading of 21.5 MPG and I have been driving this car very deliberately to take advantage of it's fuel economizing features. Can anyone advise as to what the true fuel economy possibilities are for this Highlander Hybrid? On the downside the car came with only one key which is the Valet key. This is a bummer because getting new keys made will be very expensive according to the service writer at Toyota I spoke with because I do not have at least one original master key.
