  1. Tell you the truth I don't know if i will be keeping this car for long, I love it because i put some much money in it and because its my first car i worked on. Well, soon looking for a bigger engine or new car. Right now i am getting little better mileage with my CAT back on. Reseted my ECU but not sure enough, will take it to a mechanic to get it checked and will purchase an air/fuel gauge to get an idea of whats going on. Thanks for your info thoughm i really appritiate it
  2. Anti-sieze copound?? what is it? No there was no other O2 sensor on the Cat Converter
  3. I had the same problem and QUESS ALL OF YOU WHAT WAS IT!!!! NOT a Starter, HA HA HA 100$ for a new no point Starter, well it was not a battery either, first Check your STARTER FUSE, if burned replace it and try to start a car, if it burn again you got a circuit just what i had. Check you distributer (a little box with spark plugs connected to it), best way to do so is to disconnect one of the spark plug wires from an engine block and stick you finger inside spark plug wire, the other person starts the car and if it shocks you than you got electricity and its DEFFENETLY your starter, but if your Starter Fuse (30AMP Pink located left to a headlight fuses closest to you) burns out every time you try to start then you got Circuit, but if you distributer if fine, replace your starter and see what happens. Where is it located?? Its dirty and too hard to see, the best way it to buy a new starter (or used) and see what it looks like, than get under your car and you will see it in fron of you, by the way, to replace it you might want to get good tools, there are only 2 screws that need to be removed, one from underneath, you might want to use some power and one from top, but this on you might use a good tool, its just hard to get to it. I prefer to do this with a friend, quicker and easier when you got 2 brains instead of one.

    Brakes

I have had a squicking noise before, and heard that driving in reverse and fast stop will kill that squicking, well it does help untill the time my brake pads were flat to metal and i was always squicking except when i used the brakes at stopping there was no noise. I bought Brembo Cross-Drilled Rotors, and Semi-metalic Brendix Brake Pads, lubricated pads with quiet stop lubricant, as a result GREAT, SHORT, FAST, and QUIET stopping. It has been one month already and no squicking since:) Brendix brake semi-metalic pads are cheap and the best for street driving.
  5. Tell you the truth Tornado is SCAM, bought 2 od them and installed, no HP again at all, and didn't notice any mileage increase, returned the product back lost 15%, what pissed me off is that tornado was self done, you can simple do it yourself, a sheet of steel or alluminum, cut at 45 degree angles on one side and bend them, roll it like a tube and inset in you intake. Anyways, I disconnected my battery and waited for some time for ECU to reset, by the way I have replaced and installed: 1. Cold Air intake K&H filter 2. Sport Spark Plugs 3. Spark Plugs 4. Ground Kit + Stabilizer
  6. Ok here is my problem, I wanted to gain some HP on my 94 Corolla 1.6L, well I have replaced 1. I have replaced headers because my old ones were about to break on a half, a crack in the middle, I have bought new after market headers from ebay(always bought from there), the inlet for the O2 Sensor was like a screw in, not on bolts, well instead going through the hassle i bought a new Universal O2 Sensor, as a result from getting 250 miles per 10 gallons i got 220, than I have decided for more power install straight pipe 2.25 from the headers all the way to a High Performance Muffler (Cataliter was removed), as a result some HP gain, not alot even though i have COld Air intake. Well now i get 180 miles per 10 gallons, which is driving me insane, when i my moms Buick Park Avenue Ultra 3.8L+Supercharged has 19 miles per gallon, when my little corolla does this. Well the other thing that could happen is my distributer, i have replaced my old because it wouldn't work, and in park i hear my RMP little high which could reflect on my fuel effectivity. Most likely i will buy new Cataliter and weld it in the same place where it was for a quieter ride, no pollutions, and probably may gain my Economy back, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK I SHOULD DO? Please help
  7. I did the same, replaced Oxygen O2 Sensor on the headers, and got 4 - 5 miles per gallon less.
  8. Corolla XRS with 180HP considered one of the best corollars, good fuel economy, light and quick. Sorry fidgits but you are wrong as proven..... THE SCION TC Horsepower 160 hp @ 6000 rpm Torque 163 ft-lbs. (WWW.SCION.COM) THE TOYOTA COROLLA 1.8-liter DOHC 16-valve VVT-I 4-cylinder 130 hp @ 6000 rpm; 125 lb.-ft. @ 4200 rpm (WWW.TOYOTA.COM) The corolla is not faster that the scion tc. And also scion has a special add on for the tc now, a supercharger that brings it at more than 200hp.
