  1. My tire pressure sensor light keeps coming on every few hundred miles or so. The first time I thought the light came on because it was freezing outside and the air became compressed. When I took my car in for maintenance, they told me it was nothing to worry about. I assumed they put air in my tires, because the light went away when I got my car back. The same thing happened about 600 or 700 miles ago. I wasn't sure why the sensor was coming on, my boyfriend told me my tires looked fine, so I didn't worry about it. Again, I took my car in for scheduled maintenance, and the light was gone when I got my car back. But now it's back on!! I've also noticed my left front tire looks a bit lower than the others, so I'm gonna go buy a gauge to confirm this. Can there be a leak in my tire, or is my sensor acting funky? Also, what is the ideal tire pressure for a 2009 Toyota Corolla?

  3. Thanks! I would say I'm really easy on my brakes, but I do remember hearing a high-pitched squealing sound during the summer when I had the windows down. I would hear it as soon as I started pressing down on the brake, but then it would stop when I pressed harder. Kinda sucks for me if I have to replace my brakes after only 25,000 miles knowing I'm not one of those people that slams on the brakes! I'm getting my maintenance done tomorrow at the Toyota dealership so I'll see what they have to say.
  4. My 2009 Corolla is about to hit the 25,000 mile mark and I was told by the last mechanic that did the scheduled maintenance on it that I would need to replace the front brakes by then. 25,000 miles seems a little early to me and I want to be sure they're not trying to fool me because I'm a young girl who's clueless about cars. What's the average mileage for front brake replacement?
  5. Hi, I just joined this forum because I'm a complete idiot when it comes to cars and wanted some place to go to for information and to get my questions answered, preferably by fellow Corolla owners. I'm one of those girls that freaks out every time a strange light comes on the dash, and I even have to have my boyfriend help me put air in my tires. I can pump my own gas though, woo-hoo! Go me! I own a 2009 Toyota Corolla which is just about to hit the 25,000 mile mark. My specific question for today is how much should it cost to get your scheduled maintenance done? My 5,000 mile maintenance cost about $65 at my local Toyota dealership. I asked about my 25,000 mile maintenance (which according to the manual is basically the same as the 5,000 mile: basic oil change, tire rotation and visual inspection), and they quoted me at about $120. Why is it so much more this time around? Also, the last time I took my car to Meineke for maintenance (much cheaper than the dealership), they told me I would need to get my front brakes replaced by my next maintenance appointment. I feel like 25,000 is not enough mileage to need your brakes replaced. Help!
