This is what I thought as well. And there are a lot of panel coverings to take out in order to reach the light bulb. Without the service manual showing how to take the panels off, I am not going to do it by trial and error.

I have a 98 Avalon. The front instrument panel light is off - only the light on the far right side. The result is hard to see the fuel gauge at night. Does anyone know whether this is due to the light bulb burnt or a fuse? I do not notice any other electrical problems. If it is the light bulb, where can I find instructions to access this light bulb and change? Thanks, Robert,
