  1. Now that I have a plan of attack for the interior of the celica, I need a coupla pieces parts for under the hood/part of the roof. Anyone have a line on: a) Sun/moon roof assembly: The rubber gasket is completely shot, and the metal surrounding the glass is starting to rust out pretty badly. Fortunately, the basic design is super solid, so there is no water getting into the interior...yet. I'd prefer to keep it that way. Since the metal is going, a new gasket won't fix it, and besides, Toyota only sells the thing as part of a kit anyways. B) Front struts, R&L: Completely shot. Boots are shredded, things look pretty bad. Since its primarily a station car, I'm not too interested in paying replacement prices, even at a Pep Boys or where ever, but if someone has a line on a junker or something, that would be pretty sweet. Thanks!
  2. Muy fantastico!! Just what I was looking for. From that, I can very clearly see the radio chassis, as well as why I couldn't just yank it out through the center section! (Though, it still feels loose enough to try...heh.) Thanks!!
  3. Hey there, I bought my 2000 Celica GT-S from a kid who installed a pretty good stereo. However, some of the cables behind have come loose, most notably the antenna connector. Also, one of the dash lights is out/missing, so I want to tackle both issues at once. I've seen some very fast rundowns on basic approaches to removing the center console trim, but nothing in depth (do this, do that, avoid this, etc.) It looks like someone (probably the kid) gouged parts of the dashboard pretty good trying to get the upper part out, and I'd rather NOT make his mistakes again, but don't have any experience with this sort of thing. The last radio I screwed with was in an 84 tercel wagon, which didn't require *anything* be removed to get at it! ;) And that was to install a TAPE DECK. Ooooohhhh! Aaaaaah! ;) Thanks in advance!
  4. *Another* newb (me, not you!) Although, I've been driving toyotas for over a decade now. In my time I've had an 84 Tercel wagon ("The Blue Bomber",) 90 Camry wagon ("The Silver Bullet"), and a 94 Corolla. A few years ago, I bought my first NEW car, a RAV4 with 16 miles on it at the time! Still love it, too! I just recently bought a 200 Celica GTS off of craigslist as a 'station' car, but one that rocks! Now, I'm just trying to figure out how to undo some of the more...iffy... changes that have been made on this car over the years. I'm the 4th owner, and the first was a lease, so its certainly beat to hell and back, but it still runs pretty damn good. Now, if only I could get the center console covers off so I can get at the aftermarket radio and re-plug in the antenna wire that appears to have fallen out. doh! (oh, and check for the 'missing' dash lights around there that the numbnuts who installed the radio must have knocked out...dork.) He did leave me a kicking stereo and sub in the back that could power a club...much less a fairly small sporty car! Swap that with one that doesn't take up most of the trunk, and we're in business! ;) Havok
