  1. Our Toyota Sienna had Goodyear guarantee all-season tyres, which were replaced under warranty after only 22k miles. When they were brand-new, they were fantastic, but they wore down rapidly and wet traction became a problem as time went on. staying with Michelens moving forward.
  2. There aren't many addons on the platinum, as the majority of it comes standard. Because we live in Wisconsin, we chose weathertech mats and roof rails for kayaks or a cargo bin. In terms of other dealer-specific extras, we chose carbon steel, a protective windscreen film that prevents rock and chip damage and functions similarly to rain-ex.
  3. I've driven both cars in the same manner: I almost never fill up until I'm about 20 miles past the gas light. I believe you're assuming that we can't fully utilise the tank or that the gas light comes on way too soon. But I'm not sure, and I'm not sure either of those are reasonable expectations. Long ago (I can't remember when or why I believe this any longer), I believe I learned that running out of gas is bad for the hybrid engine, so my theory has been that Toyota intentionally sets the gas light so that owners are extremely unlikely to run out of gas.
  4. When I was looking, I found a 2008 for $11k with 73k on it (this was in early 2020) and thought I'd hit the jackpot until I arrived for a test drive and discovered that it had clearly been a contractors vehicle. The interior was shabby, with broken or missing trim pieces, stains on all the carpets, two power windows that didn't work, it was low on oil, the oil it did have was clearly worn, it idled rough, and smelled like it was burning coolant at high RPM. There are unicorns out there: low-mileage gems owned by drivers who never drove them beyond the mall and now want to get rid of them. However, it is always prudent to double-check.
  5. 2" SST ready lift kit. According to the installer, everything went smoothly and the alignment is perfect after adjustments. He did suggest that we look into rear wheel spacers to keep the tyre from rubbing against the strut. Only in situations where there is a lot of down travel due to off-roading.
  6. Just a thought: paying more attention to mileage while driving results in poor mileage. It turns out that over-optimization reduces efficiency. Keep it in ECO mode and drive without looking at the mileage. It has proven to be more effective for me.
