  1. read back a little, he's already done the carfax. Sounds to me like you have a problem child on your hands. Someone probably traded that car in for a reason and I think you should do the same....
  2. AI have to agree with using the Mobil 1, but I would not recommend the semi synthetic anything because it only uses a very small percentage of synthetic. Only enough to stabilize the oil a bit. If you want to keep the car for a long time, I recommend using the full synthetic because it doesn't break down as fast, suspends more particles, and leaves no deposits. Even with hard use it's ok to leave in for 5-8K. Just make sure you're not using a cheap (fram) oil filter. The Toyota filters are best to use. If you don't like using synthetic, one of the best mineral based oils to use is Texaco Havoline. It has the least amount of Paraffin. All Pennsylvania oils are high in Paraffin and will leave deposits.
  3. If the alignment went ok that there shouldn't be any problems because they usually catch those problems so that they can charge you to correct them. Did they do a 4 wheel alignment or just the fronts? A 4 wheel alignment would show any frame issues. If I remember correctly, the rear suspension on a corolla is adjustable.
  4. Have you ran a carfax on this car? sounds like it may have had previous frame damage?!? The wheelbase needs to be equal on both sides for the car to track properly...
  5. yeah, we lucked out! I work for a dealership and took the car in on trade. It was a one owner, that was very well maintained.
  6. My buddy recently purchased a 1993 tercel with only 30K on the motor and 112k on the clock. It's a base car with a 4speed and dealer AC. I like to auto-x and we thought it would be fun to take the little toy for a run around the cones. We threw on my extra set potenzas with 15x6" rims. When we got to the event he did ok with it, but I felt he wasn't using the car to its potential. Afterwards we had some "fun runs" and I decided to give it a try myself. Without any practice I was able to beat my best time of the day (in my Hyundai) by .8seconds!!! I thought "what a great little autoxer! Let's start modifying it" As it turns out, I'm having trouble finding parts for it..... Does have the same suspension as a Paseo? what is the designation of the 1.5L engine? Are there any parts available for it? We would like to make an STS car out of it. Any help would be appreciated :)
