Toyota C-HR gains muscle
The C-HR is an innovate design launched by Toyota to compete in the already crowded world of mid-sized Crossovers. However, their design strategy seems to have worked and the C-HR stands out as a bold statement that shouts ‘Toyota has entered the building’.
However, there are always those customers who would like to ‘take it to the next level’ and fortunately for them, there are some Japanese tuning companies who specialise in a wide variety of modifications and parts for the C-HR.
TRD (Toyota Racing Development) – Toyota’s in-house tuning company, has developed two new kits for the C-HR to enhance the already stylish appearance.
The rally/off-road-influenced ‘Extreme’ styling pack includes extras such as a front spoiler, front bumper trim, bulging wheel arches, bright red mudflaps and black 18″ multi-spoke alloy wheels.
The ‘Aggressive‘ body kit has more of a Japanese street tuning influence and as the name suggests makes the C-HR look more ‘streetwise’ courtesy of a front spoiler with integrated LED lights, front bumper trim, side skirts, rear bumper spoiler/diffuser, rear boot spoiler and black 18″ multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Also available from TRD are several other parts for the C-HR, including sports seat covers, a motion control beam for the suspension system, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a start/stop ignition button and door handle protectors.
The famous Japanese tuning house has also developed two unique kits for the C-HR.
The ‘Elegant Ice Style’ kit enhances the overall look by lowering the profile of the car by the addition of a front spoiler, side skirts and a rear skirt. Additional modifications include a square dual chrome style exhaust tip, chrome accents on the mirrors, doors and door handles and a choice of 17″ or 19″ alloy wheels.
The ‘Boost Impulse Style’ kit comes complete with a front spoiler with integrated LED lights, a chrome front grille, side skirts, rear skirts, boot spoiler, an embedded dual exit exhaust and a choice of 17″ or 19″ five-spoke turbine style alloy wheels.
Kuhl-Racing has revealed their aggressively styled kit for the C-HR. It provides a lower all-round profile with a revised front spoiler, side skirts and a floating rear diffuser. The suspension set-up has also been considerably lowered and cambered to sit on a set of deep-dish Verz wheels with black centres and a chrome lip.
Tom’s Racing offer a more subtle approach compared to the previous offerings. Their kit comes complete with a revised front spoiler, side skirts, small rear spats, lightweight multi-spoke racing wheels and a tasteful dual sided exhaust, with twin exits on either side.
