Yaris 2010 - charcoal canister filled with water

everyone,

I'm experiencing trouble with my 2010 Yaris charcoal canister. The CEL came on a few months ago
and the mechanics used the diagnostic tool to determine it was the charcoal canister, code PE045 and 3 others code, that needed replacement.
Estimated cost for replacing five parts including charcoal canister,
which is the more expensive part, 969$ :(

I always owned Toyota's car and this never happened
before. I did some little research online for this. Turns out many of
Toyota owners have the same problem. What's strange is that this problem ain't
exclusive to Yaris, but a multitude of other Toyotas as well: Corollas,
Avalons, Scions, Camry... These are reports from other forums.

Before complaining to Toyota, I would want to know if many

of you had this kind of problem.
