Bear62041
I have a 1987 Celica GT Convertible. When I move the turn signal lever for a right hand turn everything works as it should. When I want to make a signal for a left hand turn, I can move the lever 1/2 way and the exterior turn signal lamp works, the flashing green arrow in the dash works, everything is normal. BUT, if I move the lever completely down as I would normally, I get a buzzing behind the instrument panel, there is no longer a flashing green arrow in the dash, and the exterior turn signal lamp quits being illuminated. If i move the lever back up to the 1/2 way point everything works again. It never blows a fuse or circuit breaker. Anyone had a similar problem, or can offer a suggestion of where to start looking ?? Thanks in advance.
Toyota Owners Club
Sounds odd. Could be the actual turn lever itself maybe shorting inside or something. If you can find one cheap enough it may be worth just giving that a go and swapping it over. Only thinking of this as you said it was working half way down which is a little strange! Bear62041
Thanks for the prompt come-back. If it involves the lever I'm going to have to take it some place. I can't figure out how to get the cover off at the steering wheel.
Toyota Owners Club
Fair enough. Only my best educated guess as the fact that it's working half way down leads me to think it must be something in the lever that's causing it. Good luck getting it sorted let us know what the outcome is! :)
