techmech
Just bought a2004 Solara. Mint with 112K miles. Only one set of keys. Owner couldn't find the other set. Went to dealer today for another set (key and transmitter) and was quoted a really ridiculous number. Is the dealer the only ones who can reprogram a 2nd set or can a good auto alarm shop do the work for less
Leighcm
An alarm shop may be able to program it for a little less, but most of the cost is the actual transmitter & key. You should definitely buy a second set though...if you lose your only set, it's VERY expensive to get new keys then.
MasterYota
I'm not sure if this works, but this page says this is how you can program a remote http://www.programyourremote.com/classified/DisplayAd.asp?id=1223 And there's also this http://www.ebay.com/bhp/toyota-solara-key But I've literally never heard of anyone doing this, so good luck and let us know if you try it and it works for you!
