  1. I am the original owner of a 2004 Toyota Camry LE with a 3.0 L V6 engine. The Camry currently has 224,000 miles. The problem started in the beginning of August 2015 when the usually reliable vehicle would be hard to start in the morning. After starting it would warm up and then run all day with no problems. I did observe that while it was still warming up it would hesitate in 2nd gear – about 20 miles per hour. The next morning it would be hard to start. This problem lasted about one week then it would not start and I had it towed to my mechanic. After the tow my mechanic said the car started right up. My mechanic replaced the right camshaft sensor on August 3, 2015 as he said there was a trouble code for the sensor. The Camry worked fine for one week then the same series of problems started again. The car was towed to my mechanic and he replaced the left camshaft sensor on August 14, 2015. Both times the mechanic stated the computer trouble code came up for these sensors. The Camry worked fine for one week then the same series of problems started again. The car was towed to my mechanic and he had the ECM Reflashed. The tech (subcontractor from NAPA) said he had trouble reflashing the ECM. The car worked fine for one week then would not start. At my mechanic’s suggestion the car was towed to a local Toyota Dealership. The car was towed to the dealership on a Saturday and they looked at it on that Monday. They had the car the whole week and it started every day. The dealership could not recreate the no start condition. They thought (80% probability) that the problem was the fuel pump but could not say it was 100% the problem. My mechanic stated he checked the fuel pressure and it was within specs. I took the Camry home and it worked for one week. Now the engine will turn over but not start. It acts like it wants to start but it will not. After trying to start we noted a strong smell of gasoline. I am getting a trouble code – P0430 – Catalytic System Efficiency below threshold Bank 2. I have kept up on the car’s maintenance including oil changes at every 3000 miles, air filter changes, and timing belt changes (two so far). I did observe where the driver’s floor was wet with water – probably a leak in the windshield. Any suggestions on what the problem is?
