  1. For reference: I called Toyota with the information you gave me.. he asked me one question.. was it one piece underneath or two that join together. I said two. He said it's just one size clip. I believe he told me $3.99 each whereas the ones online are much cheaper.
  2. Thanks very much for that reply. I don't think it could have been more perfect!
  3. I thought I'd ask this question before I went to an auto parts store.I have a 2009 Corolla. Long story short, I had an accident last night. No other cars involved.. and I have no idea what.. was it a cat? dog? rabbit? someone rolling a bowling ball across the road? I had no time to react and I couldn't see anything behind me. My car jumped a little as it hit whatever it hit. There was a noise from my car. It was the plastic underneath the car had fallen loose and was dragging on the ground. I guess that protects the other stuff under there. I had to drive home like that and then tape it up so I can go to work today. The front plastic has some kind of screw with plastic pieces on it.. not sure what you call it. That I was able to push back in. I had a coworker look at it and he says the other plastic has some clips that go on it.. what are these clips called? He says I need of them.
  4. My oil was low the other day so I had to put more in. I was unaware if it needed regular or synthetic so I called the dealer. He told me to put in whatever feels better to me. Something like that. I forget his words exactly, but he stated that cars usually come with regular oil because it's cheaper. Does switching to synthetic make a big difference and if so what kind of difference?! Better performance? Better mpg? Longer life? If I switch to synthetic I should drain out all the old stuff and put only synthetic in, right? I went last week to do my first oil change ever at the dealer. I was happy because the first one is free. Maybe next time I'll get synthetic if it's worth it.
  5. The cargo net is exactly the same as some other years, so while I didn't see one in stock for the 09 Corolla their book listed there actually isn't one. It's just one from another year. At least I was able to get the Toyota Brand one rather than some cheap aftermarket crap. It just looks better in there.
  6. Thanks for the reply. It didn't concern me that much, which is why I wanted to ask here first. All my previous cars were given to me and were from the 90's. My last car was a 1995 Chevy Lumina 4Dr. My Mom had it since it was brand new. Man was that a nightmare. The engine in that year and some other years have a gasket problem. The top end blew up on me and I had it fixed. After being fixed it had the same problem almost immediately. They replaced the engine with a junk yard engine and that lasted me a few years longer, but finally had the same problem again. That is a known problem with the engine. They made reinforced gaskets later on to combat the problem, but that's way too late. I had 130,000+ miles on the car itself and who knows how many on the engine since it came from a junk yard.
  7. Is there an accessory I need to buy to enable my radio to work with my bluetooth cellphone and does anyone know how much it sells for about? I have a 2009 Corolla LE without satellite radio. I wasn't sure if bluetooth came with the car or was an option when I made the purchase, but I really didn't care. Now I'm thinking maybe I do want that feature. I'm going to add XM Satellite later on and am told it's $300 something + the install.
  8. I have a 2009 Corolla LE that I bought in February of 2008. This is my first new car ever. At the time the dashboard was reporting I was getting about 28.9 MPG. I was told that new cars need time to break in a little and that I should get better gas mileage usually. After awhile it started to go up. It went all the way up to 29.9 or 29.8 (I forget exactly). Recently the MPG number started to drop a bit, little by little it went down by .1 or .2 here and there. I have 4700 miles on the car and went in for my first oil change and tire rotation last Saturday. As of current I am down to 29.4 MPG. I understand this is not much of a difference and maybe I am being over cautious, but being that this is my first new car ever I just want to make sure I pay attention and go to my dealer if anything happens.

    LE or S

When I went to buy my Corolla they only had two models in stock for the 09's. They had one LE and one S. I compaired the price on both and features. The nice thing I liked about the S was fog lights. Most of the other things were cosmetic. Although I do like the 16" wheels that were standard on the S, I opened another thread here asking how much gas mileage I'd lose by going from 15" to 16" wheels and possibly rims. So, my vote is for the LE. I think it looks damn good (and MUCH better with the spoiler) and costs thousands less.
  10. Good thinking. I might go down there next paycheck and see. It's annoying to have little groceries in the trunk which fly around.
  11. Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll just get it done at them.
  12. Is this a key just like the key you'd carry in your wallet you mean? If someone knew it was in there they could start the car easily or steal it?
  13. I have an 09 Corolla LE that displays titles just fine. I've done it with burned audio CD, burned mp3 CD, as well as store bought CD's.
  14. If I put on aftermarket rims and upgrade from 15" to 16" wheels will that cut my gas mileage significantly?! My car says I'm getting about 29.8 MPG right now. I wouldn't want to lose too much, but I'd like to look a bit different. I didn't get the fog light package installed with my car. Is that something that's not too hard to add on if I wanted that from the dealer?
  15. In February I bought an 09 Corolla LE. The other day I was out and some dude was eyeballing my car when I got out of the store. Turns out he owns a 2006 Corolla LE and was just looking it over. We stopped and chatted for a few minutes. He told me they charge him $60 for oil changes at the Toyota he bought his car from. Is this a pretty normal price?! When my time comes should I get my oil changes done at my dealer or just go elsewhere where it might be cheaper?!
