  1. For those of us with a year or better on our Prius cars we share some things with newcomers. What to expect om mileage: Terrain can effect mpg's...weather can effect it...YOUR DRIVING WILL DEFINITLY effect it...Summer to Winter blends of gas can play a part in mpg's...AC and other accessories can effect it too. E.P.A. says the Prius is rated at 60 city & 50 hiwy....It ain't a gonna happen!! Most of us have come to expect hi 40's and maybe very low 50's. This is normal for most of us on the average. I'm not a KNOW-IT-ALL, I'm just passing this along from several sites of Prius & other Hybrid owners. Culliganman(free us Prius)
  2. Toyota, for some unknown reason, has an unusual Rr wiper. It does not have an easy flip up position for cleaning the glass. If you try to pull it up it will break and they're expensive to replace (no surprise there). Here's another surprise...There's a clip to unsnap that will release the wiper so it CAN be flipped up. 3. Short topic here that addresses the antenna. It is removable by unscrewing which, because of its' location, is important prior to any automatic carwash. Very expensive to replace. P.S. Remember to put "shift selector in "neutral posistion when using automatic pull thru car washes.
  4. Toyota says "NO" to towing in the manual. 'nuff said. (on page 234 of the manual). As for me ....lite towing like a cycle, jet ski, or a snowmobile might be O.K. on a small trailer. If I could just find a place to mount a hitch. Culliganman( wishin & hopein)
  5. Am I the only one that is missunderstanding this "towbar" question? I'm an avid RV'er and a towbar is for the front of the Prius to attach so the Prius can be towed. Again I think the manual recommends no to 4-wheel down towing but the manual does not say anything about towing 2-wheel up by dolly. Culliganman(hybrid heaven)
  6. Not good news about towing. According to the Prius owner's manual towing is taboo. I do think if you can find mounting locations (which I've tried to locate) I would think minimal loads like motorcycle or snowmobile, or a jet ski could be trailered and not be detremental to the car. Of course Toyota might have a different opinion. Warrantee in question. Culliganman (04 Prius w/ 16K)(free us Prius)
