  5. I have the exact same issue. Never know when it will happen. Engine cranks just fine, but won't start. Then it will. Jumping helped once, then it didn't. If you get an answer, put it out there... I cleaned the MAF as I saw in another thread, and it helped for a short while, but still the same issue exists.
  6. I just got a new 2024 trd off road premium , what part do we need to stock up. Since it is an out going model . Thanks Sam
  7. I just purchased a 2000 Camry XLE V6 with 41K miles. Can anyone on here recommend a shop in the Annapolis area where I could take it to get a full workup?
  8. Just purchased a 2000 Camry XLE V6 with 41K miles. Anyone on here know of a good auto shop in the Annapolis area where I could take it to get a full workup on it?
  9. The extra set of wires goes to the subwoofer. It has 2 positives and negatives cause its a dual voice coil.
  10. I hit a pothole on the highway and my right rear tire started making a very loud rubbing noise. I pulled over and found some sort of plastic bracket came from somewhere in front of that rear tire and pressed against the tire tread. The bracket is sort of shaped like a capital T with a hole in each end of the cross piece at the top. It’s about 4” wide at the top. I tried to break it off and could not. Therefore I twisted it down and towards the front just outside of the wheel well. Does anyone know what this part is? I’ve looked at many parts diagrams and can’t find it. Thank you

  12. Hi I have been looking for an AE86 that run under 10k and found some around my area I want to know more about common problems with AE86's and what to expect when owning an AE86.
  13. If your Highlander is equipped with heated/ventilated seats. Not all trim levels have them.
  14. Do you have the owner's manual? You can download one here: https://www.toyota.com/owners/warranty-owners-manuals/ This button cycles thru the odometer functions as I described earlier.
  15. There are a lot of Highlanders out there. Someone should know this.
  16. The 2021 and the 2018 are different I guess. I know the 2015 thru 2019 are supposed to be the same.

  18. Hello, bought a 2020 corolla le a few years back, was used when i got it. But just recently started saying the device isnt supported while still working. And flashing the sos lights red and green. Doing some research i guess the dcm module is to blame but cant find much more. Tried unplugging the positive on the battery for about 30 minutes but will try both terminals, and longer. Heard theres a battery that can go bad but not sure how easy it is to get too. Also heard a service bulletin for a similar issue where it’s just needing an update, and lastly ive heard from many to disable the thing with the fuse but my fiance uses the microphone feature. Where should i go from here? About to disable it and jump the pins at this point.
  19. Costco, the warehouse club known for bulk bargains, also offers members a perk at the pump: discounted gas. But how do these gas prices compare to what you might pay for your Toyota, and is a Costco membership worth it for gas savings alone? Costco Gas: Lower Prices, Higher Membership Costco gas stations are notorious for their long lines, and for good reason. They consistently offer some of the cheapest gas prices around. However, there's a catch: you need a Costco membership to fill up. Memberships start around $60 a year, so the savings need to outweigh the cost to make it worthwhile. Finding current Costco gas price can be tricky, as they aren't widely advertised. Some resources like GasBuddy offer crowdsourced price information, but the most surefire way is to check the gas station itself upon arrival. Fuel Efficiency Matters for Toyota Drivers Toyota vehicles are known for their reliability and fuel efficiency. This is important because even with discounted gas, maximizing your miles per gallon (MPG) saves the most money in the long run. Here's a breakdown: A typical Toyota Camry might achieve 30 MPG on the highway. At a national average gas price of $3.70 (as of July 2023), driving long distances can get expensive. Even a small discount at Costco, say $0.10 per gallon, can add up over time. However, if you mostly do short trips around town, the gas savings might be negligible. The Verdict: Crunch the Numbers So, is a Costco membership worth it for gas savings with your Toyota? It depends. Here's what to consider: How often you buy gas: Frequent drivers benefit more from price savings. Your typical driving distance: Highway miles make fuel efficiency more crucial. Costco membership benefits: Gas is just one perk. Do the other benefits justify the cost? If you're a highway warrior who fills up frequently, a Costco membership could pay for itself in gas savings. However, for casual drivers with Toyotas known for fuel efficiency, the break-even point might be higher. The Final Thought Costco gas can be a great way to save on fuel for your Toyota, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. Consider your driving habits and membership value before making a decision. pen_spark tuneshare more_vert
  20. I have a humming noise coming from the rear of my 17 Highlander when speed gets to 55 to 60 mph. Has anyone else have this problem?
  21. I have a 2021 but I think the 2018 is similar. There are two buttons under the gauge cluster on the tachometer side. The left button cycles from Odometer ---> Trip A ----> Trip B, then back to the odometer. If you press and hold the left button while either trip is displayed, it will reset the meter to zero. The middle and right buttons adjust the gauge lighting brightness. I can post a pic of the button location if it would help.
  22. Old guy but new to this forum. I've owned a few Toyotas in my time (4 Prius, 1 Tacoma) now I have a 24 Camry LE Hybrid. I REALLY like the mpg even though it's a little hard for us 70 year olds to get in and out of. The MOST annoying thing for us was the seat belt buzzer(gong). We do use our seat belts but there are times when I will start driving before the wife gets her belt buckled (fidling with her purse, sunglasses, kleenex, etc) and I found it very annoying. I asked the Toyota service dept to shut it off and was told it couldn't be done. IT CAN BE. I follow a great Toyota mechanic on Youtube (THE CAR CARE NUT) and he showed me it can be done with the right scan tool (and should be able to be done with the Toyota scan tool). It just depends on how much $ you want to spend to get rid of the noise. The scan tool is currently around $550. It's an Xtool D8. Please watch his video on Youtube to see how it's done if you're interested. I bought the D8BT (bluetooth version) and had to hunt for the way to do it. I have seen the D8 on ebay for almost $100 less. Returns are very easy on Amazon. I now don't have to listen to that noise.
  23. https://youtu.be/aTA1DUmtIyE?si=018sF6KmR1jBdCkL Hi! My name is Luke. I bought a 2001 Camry a few months ago with the intentions of turning it into a daily driver. The guy I bought it off of "rebuilt the motor", which he might've, he seemed genuine and the inside looks pretty good. But that being said there could still be something wrong. It's a 2001 Toyota Camry with the 2.2 in it. Stick shift too. I added a video link so if anybody recognizes the noise they might be able to help, thank you!
  24. Just wanted to say hi and I’m eager to start mods for my 24 Taco TRD Sport Premium. thanks for the add Scott
  25. Hey you guys! Toyo owner for ssseeeevvvveeerrraaallll years!!! Literally, Corolla, Tacoma, RAV4, Camry, Corolla....... Love my Yotas! Currently have a 2024 Toyota Corolla LE with some upgrades......
  26. Ok, so I'm new to this forum. I have a 2024 Corolla LE and just recently had 20" wheels installed along with 245/35r20 TOYO's. I am still getting vibrating in the seats and floorboard even after rechecking the balancing 6 times and road force testing. Anyone else had this issue? Maybe I need hub rings even though the wheels are lug centric?
  27. Sometimes (not always) I can see the TripA. I have no idea how to reset it; I need to know how to do that. I have never seen TripB; how do I see it and how do I reset it. I use the Trips to keep up with MPG. I know somewhete it does that automaticallyy. I prefer manually. I guess the question is how to bring the Trip miles up so I can see them and reset them to zero.
  28. New to 2018 Toyota Highlander. The owner's manual online and book that came with the vehicle does not really help. How do I turn on the seat warmers and adjust the temperature? I am not sure if I have the steering wheel heat, but if I do how do turn it on and off?
